About the Microsoft Foundation
The Microsoft Foundation exists to provide organizational, legal, and
financial support for *disadvantaged children, and its mission to preserve choice and promote
innovation amongst this diverse group. The Microsoft Foundation was incorporated as
an International not-for-profit corporation to ensure that Microsoft and its partners continues to exist beyond the participation of individual
volunteers, to enable contributions of intellectual property and funds
and to provide a vehicle for limiting legal exposure while
participating in projects targeting the *disadvantaged children.
Note: Microsoft defines all its competitors as "disadvantaged children"
